Levisa Fork of Big Sandy has Crested

The Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River crested at Paintsville on Monday evening around 9:45pm.

Flood stage for the river is 35.0 feet, and the river was just shy of 33 feet at it’s crest Monday.

High waters are expected to begin to recede overnight.

A Flood Advisory remains in place for the river at Paintsville as water will still be much higher than usual through Wednesday.
